I have 4 ducklings and 1 gosling all are 2 weeks old. I am feeding Dumors chick starter currently. When do I switch to a different feed and can the ducks and goose eat the same feed? This is our first goose and we all fell in love with her instantly. We want to be sure she has what she needs to be healthy. Thanks in advance!

Yes, she can eat the same feed as the ducks. Purina flock raiser is generally a good choice. Mazuri also has nice waterfowl feed if you can find it. Mine all eat the same feed - the ducks, geese, chickens, and guineas :) Once adult they can eat either a waterfowl maintenance or breeder feed, if you can find one, or mine seem to do fine on regular layer pellets. Geese really like to eat grass anyway when they have access and might not touch the feed at all if they can get enough grass.

Ducks and geese can eat the same food, but it seems like angel wing is more common in goslings (that's just what I've observed and I could be wrong about that). I prefer Mazuri waterfowl growth when they're tiny babies, but then I start mixing in crumbled up maintenance pellets so they don't get too much protein. Being out on fresh grass is good for them, too. Mine love dandelions.

any one know how to sex the american goose how to tell them apart by the looking at them
