I have this bird cage and it fits my 3 baby chicks well. When they get older, could i put them in a bigger bird cage?

Also by putting them in a bird cage, does it make the chicks grow slower since they're not moving around as much like a coop would do. Thanks!

How big is the bird cage? You could use a macaw cage, but chickens love a lot of space, and they use horizontal more then vertical space. You can use a large rabbit cage as well.

Birds will only be slow growing if they aren't getting proper nutrition, not from cage size.

I hope this helps, best of luck!

If they don't have enough floor space to move around, you could be causing overcrowding stress. It can lead to feather picking or cannibalism. It's best to avoid overcrowding and give your chicks ample room to run about.

Oh okay thanks! Do you recommend putting newspapers or something on the cage where they step in case it hurts their feet?
