Hi everone! I have 9 chickens in total now. My most recent batch of chicks consists of 4 pullets and 1 cockerel. They are almost 3 months old now, and I was wondering if, when the pullets start laying, roosters can eat laying pellets. I have had hens for the past three years, but no roosters. Do I have to separate him, or is it ok for him to eat the layer pellets? Sorry, I'm sure there is an obvious answer to this question but I cant seem to find an answer.

It’s okay for him to eat, but it is bad for his kidney. So yes, he will survive, but it is bad for him to eat it long term. I recommend switching to All-flock feed with oyster shells on the sides. I am currently feeding my rooster seperately, with grower feed. But once I run out, I would like to get some All-flock feed...
