I used to buy a lot of cake mixes on sale. Then I became borderline diabetic and don't eat them any more so I have a cupboard full. Most expired 2 years ago. I know its bad for humans because it can develop mites in the flour mix but would it be OK for chickens? I mean, they eat bugs, right? And the bugs would die in the baking process anyway.

Its chocolate, white and angel food cakes and would be made with eggs and oil.

What say you? Do they get to eat cake?

I wonder if you could add seeds or grains, etc when you are baking it and it would be healthy for them too!

we don't really eat cake in our house either, but occasionally one is made, very little of it is consumed by the humans though. The rest goes to the chickens. I stir a large container of plain yogurt into the leftover cake and call it their probiotic treat. They devour it!

I have a side job decorating wedding cakes and believe me there are lots of scraps!! I take them the scraps every now and then and OMG...they go nuts for it.

You could probably sprinkle some wild bird seed on it or in it and make it a little bit "healthier"....

I heard you can't give chickens chocolate at all but that's my only concern a lot of animals can't have chocolate from what I understood
