Hi all!
I know there are already posts about compost, and as chicken lovers, who doesn't love to add that sweet sweet manure to the mix, however we're trying to hammer out a sustainable compost plan for the community garden that we run, and while we would love to add manure, we're worried about liabilities ( salmonella)
I like that the manure adds heat to help cook the pile, but I don't know about safety.
Does anyone have any advice on the matter?
We we're looking to do the three bin system and we generate at least 64 cubic feet of plant matter waste (for lack of a better word) at the end of each growing season.
Anyone interested in helping work this out?

Following. I think by the time it’s ready to use (i.e. the nitrogen has diminished) salmonella shouldn’t be a problem. Not an expert though, just the kind of person who gets antsy in February, reads up on things, plans and never actually puts shovel to soil because all my friends are well and good at it already and will trade tomatoes for eggs 😂
