its my first time incubating quail and i was wondering if you can sex bobwhites as soon as they hatch. the reason i ask is because i want to keep 1 male and 3 female bobwhite quail to have fertile eggs whenever i want and i want to sell the rest of the ones that hatch. any info would be appreciated! thank you.

Unfortunately you can't. They are not feather sexed like chickens or other poultry. BUT.....I have noticed that SOMETIMES the females will get their primaries faster than the males. All the chicks tend to feather at about the same rate, but some females will get their wings in before the males do. But this is not a given. And unfortunately, they are not truly feather sexed until about 11 or 12 weeks of age. :)
