Hey yall
Im looking at ordering a 1000lb tote of New country organics grower/broiler feed.
They are out of VA.
Has anyone used this company and this particular feed? Id love a review before diving in... If no one has a comment I will probably buy just a few 50l bags first, which im sure is a wise option either way..only the feed store is a whopping 3 hours away round trip and id like to git r' done!
Thanks!

I use their 23% booster pellet and like it. The pellets have been fresh, and birds eat them fine. This year I am feeding it to adult breeder chickens as a balance to a 50% grain diet. Last year, I mixed it with mash and grain and then just grain for growing ducks.

Wow, I just went and looked, and it is considerably higher than other starter and grower broiler feed. Hmmm.... my girls have been on it since the 3rd they were at home and they seem to love it never had an issue with them not taking it or anything. I know I've read the label before but I guess I didn't know what too much calcium was. I haven't noticed any ill effects as of yet and they are 16 weeks old.

I switched mine too it when they were about 7 weeks old. They were on it for about 5 weeks after that. Mine liked it too, except they never really ate the fines unless I soaked it. Since they weren't eating the fines, they likely weren't eating the calcium, but also likely didn't have a ballanced diet. I'm ticked off they still haven't responded to my email. They were very prompt to respond to sales questions.....

My solution is to keep pellets in the feeder and feed them a higher quality soaked feed twice a day.

NCO responded and said the labels are wrong on their feed. Attached is the response to a review I left on their page. It seems odd that they wouldnt update the labels if they changed the formulation, especially if they sent a sample off to a lab again. Anyway, their word on it is something. I have a fresh bag of their starter that I wasn't going to use, but may now use, on 6 chicks that hopefully come tomorrow.

Sweet! well that makes me feel a lot better about it then. I'm glad they got back with you, just sucks it took so long. They really need to reprint the label…. 🤔

You mentioned your flock didn't really eat the fines and you soak them. What does that entail? you just wet it down? Mine don't eat the fines either and I was curious on how to avoid having to waste that.

I have just been mixing it it in a bowl, about 1 part water to 1 part feed. After it sits for 20 minutes it's like thick oatmeal. A lot of people seem to ferment it, which is supposed to be really good for them.

Thanks! im going to have to give that a shot. ive read some on fermenting, not sure my experience or confidence is ready for that yet hahaha. ill give this soaking thing a shot once they eat it down to the fines again.

Thanks,

WW
