Candling at Day 18, unsure of this egg? What does it mean?

Can you see any movement at all?

I'd be suspicious of that ring at the top, but the picture is all green so I'm not sure what I'm seeing there.

If I'm not sure on an egg, I just mark it with an X with pencil so I'll know when they've all hatched but that one, that it apparently died along the way.

I'll assume that green color is due to the light you are using. Were they all green?

Nothing to be concerned with. When you candled did you notice any rotten egg smell? If you did from any egg you need to toss the smelly egg but if you did not it should be safe to leave in there.

At Day 18 I'd consider that egg to have never developed and is still clear. Those spots are probably from porosity. I think you could remove it and open it to see if it ever started developing or leave it in and investigate it after the hatch is over.

Thank you, yes I'm not sure why it is green. I just did a screenshot of the video of this particular egg and it came out green. I did other screen shots of white and cream eggs and other blue shell eggs and didn't come out green. The egg's colour is greenish blue - meant to be pure-bred araucana.

I didn't notice any movement on this egg but, I really just noticed movement in a few of them. My first incubation had only a few that I noticed movement with, but 16 of 18 eggs hatched, so I wasn't particularly worried about movement as I was conscious of the time and didn't want the eggs to be cold.

There is no smell so I left in the incubator for now. I guess I will have to wait if it hatches.

I will remember to put an X on eggs that am dubious with at next incubation. Thank you.
