My previous post. To preface, I'm not trained, this is the first time I'm dealing with this situation, and there are no vets near me and/or willing to help.

I have a single EE in isolation since New Years for canker and started treating her 01/05/25 as soon as I got the Metronidazole powder that same day. Because she has difficulty eating/drinking on her own, I've been mixing the Kaytee Exact with medicine+water and tube feeding her. I'm also cleaning the cheese stuff under her tongue (which has been slightly pushed to the left by the stuff) with tweezers and Equate First Aid Iodine Antiseptic Liquid. She's currently 3lbs and 3 years old.

The directions say to add 1 tsp for 1 quart of water but I'm want a smaller batch so instead I do 1/2 tsp for 1 pint of water.

I tube feed her this 60ml~ mixture 2x a day. This mixture gives me the right consistency I want also fills a 60ml catheter syringe with only a bit leftover. I am also using a 14 Fr tube.
- 1 and a half scoops~ of Kaytee Exact (the scoop that is included in the jar)
- 65-70ml~ of the medicine+ water (I'm using a 20ml syringe to keep track)
Whatever medicine+water I have leftover I leave in a bowl for her to help herself to if she can. She also has a bowl of normal feed to help herself to if she can.
I understand that there is a pill but I panicked and bought the powder as the powder is what I was able to find quickly and get my hands on without a prescription. Again, I was panicked I love this girl very dearly.
I feel her crop before and after each feed. She's been making solid, normal poops.
She hasn't aspirated once. Kelli Anderson on yt has helped me understand how to tube feed and do the process in 5 mins or less.
She's still active and interested in food/water albeit the difficulty to eat/drink.
The rest of my flock is being treated with Acidified Copper Sulfate.

Questions:
- As the title mentions, am I doing this right? I appreciate feedback and suggestions.
- Is there harm to dissolving the powder in hot water? i.e, reduced efficacy?, does it become toxic?, etc.
- I've read that normal crop volume is 50ml but there will be days I work 12 hr shifts at the hospital. Is it possible to feed her 120ml all at once of the wet feed or any amount close to it? So far on days I have those long shifts, I would come home late at night (7-8pm), wake her up, and crop feed her 60ml once and let her sleep again. I haven't tried in the morning before those shifts (4-5am) as I don't want to wake my parents up. Her crop still feels squishy after a 60 ml feed but maybe because it's wet mash.

I have no expertise with any of this, but I'm just wondering about the feeding her late and wet mash part. Does she get anything down on her own at all? If so what is she able to consume?

When I feed her late at night, I feel her crop and it should feel full. In the morning, her crop should feel empty which means it emptied overnight/she pooped. As I mentioned in my post, she has canker and is having difficulty eating/drinking anything enough so I am tube feeding her a mix of Kaytee Exact and water that has Metronidazole mixed in.

My bad. What's the most you have tried to tube feed her?
I mentioned that I feed her 60ml twice a day.
