cantaloupe rinds

My new flock of chicks love cantaloupe but they eat everything including the rind. Will the rind hurt them? My old flock never ate the outside rind.

Mine ate watermelon rind this week without any issues so I wouldn't think cantalope would hurt them either. They eat sticks and rocks and stuff too, so at least the rinds are organic and plant material.

The rind won't hurt them. I'm surprised they eat it though, mine won't, though they do love cantelope. They eat the white of the watermelon rinds but not the outside part.

mine eat the rind and all, no ill effects here either.

Do you grind it up or throw it out pretty much whole?
