I was considering making my own, and then saw that people use cat harnesses or dog harnesses sometimes so I was looking into thatlucy and co has the best harnesses ever, they are technically for dogs but out of the 10+ types of harnesses i’ve bought for my ducks they work the best
honestly depends but i wouldn’t use one you weren’t sure was good quality, it could probably ruin their feathersI was considering making my own, and then saw that people use cat harnesses or dog harnesses sometimes so I was looking into that
that’s why you make sure the harness fits them, measuring before you order is extremely helpful since all ducks will be a different sizeOr they could slip out of it. My Female Muscovy followed a Muscovy drake down to the river one afternoon when I wasn't paying attention. ONE didn't go because she was sitting on eggs so my bright idea was to take her in a dog harness and go down and see if the others would follow her home. Haha, she got into the river with the harness on I had her on one of those long line leashes that retract. Well, she slipped right out of that harness and of course, then all my girls were at the river and I had 10 eggs without a broody, So it was up to me to take the eggs put them into a basket lined with a towel up to my room with a light on them to keep them warm I misted them off an on overnight. [honestly had no idea what ai was doing] just starting out with ducks this was 2004. I was so worried about those girls. All 3 were solid white and probably glowed in the dark. Next morning that drake was at that time, not mine. Didn't belong to anyone. Brought those girls home and he had a new home that day. Needless to say, I am telling you all of this because it is easy to lose one if they don't have something that fits them good enough they can't get out of it. And that new home was here with us. We had him for almost 12 yrs.
