Chalky bald spot. ???

I have never seen this before on my peacock.
He’s 8 yrs old, no signs of illness. Growing back his train well, has a peahen with him. Is kept separate from the chickens.
He let me scratch at it, so not painful or bloody.
What do you think it is?

Might be dry Pox. If it is it will run its course and go away.

No, it is a virus (if that is what this is) and runs a course like cold sores although I haven't seen a bird have it twice.
