Charcoal vs Propane

I've been in a grilling mood lately so I figured why not fire up this old debate.

Question is simple, which do you prefer when grilling? Charcoal or propane? Ik other options exist but these are the 2 we'll be focusing on

Please keep things civil, debate is fine but no arguing. Barbecuing is supposed to be fun and so is this thread

As for me, sorry hank hill but I am a charcoal gal. Charcoal grills are usually more inexpensive and it gives whatever you're grilling better flavor. Gas also just generally makes me nervous, both can be dangerous if handled improperly but gas explosions are particularly scary

I've never grilled before but I put charcoal because you can throw it at your siblings

I agree charcoal gives a better flavor as long as you're not some kind of insane firebug and use half a bottle of lighter fluid on it (chimneys, peole!) We have burn bans a lot here, which includes charcoal grills, so I have a propane 3 burner. I also like the more consistent and controllable heat of gas. And lastly, it was also free

I've been liking biomass cubes for lightning my grill. Just light a a few under the charcoal and you're good to go
