I had a chick just hatch out of the incubator she keeps flipping on her back and cannot walk normal. It could be spraddle leg but I’m not sure if flipping on the back is part of that.

She literally is like four hours old but it’s more than just how chicks wobble around after they hatch. Only one foot looks a bit curled, but it’s like she’ll walk backwards and fall over on to her back and then has a hard time getting back up. Any thoughts on what it is or what I should be doing for her? As well as what would’ve caused it? Would it have been a deficiency in my hens or something off in the incubator? Seems like I still have six other healthy chicks hatched and three still working on it. I do have another one similar situation but definitely not as bad. thanks for any thoughts!

Sounds like a protracted hatch. When were they supposed to hatch.
In my experience, a chick that doesn't stand on its own the first day usually doesn't make it.
The legs don't look right. How long was it from pipping to hatch?

They were supposed to hatch Saturday (3-8) I’m not exactly sure how long from pipping to hatching, I mean not anymore then 48 hours but I’m not sure.
She seems like she can at least balance better now and trying to walk around.

Regardless of the reading on the incubator or thermometers, your temperature was low throughout, likely at least 1F low.
Usually when a chick struggles over a day, they have been pushing so long trying to break out it tends to force the feet into a curved position.
What is up with the chick's right foot?

That’s what I was thinking about the late hatch I got a digital thermometer/humidity gauge. I still have chicks pipping.

And update on the chick- it is walking so much better I was able to put her back in the brooder with the rest- she is running around and everything! So not sure what that was but still keeping an eye on her.
Thanks for the help!
I’m trying to figure out what’s up with this incubator I’ve never had great success in it.

What incubator was it? I have a chick with the same problem just a tiny bit older than yours was
