Hi, I have a 6 week old chick that is shaking, it can't walk and can't stand. I noticed a few days ago it was shivering on and off. Today the symptoms have intensified to the point it cant' stand or walk. It is pooing and attempting to eat but because it is shaking so much it's having difficulty. They are kept separate from my adult chicks in a chick pen in my garage. I clean the cage regularly, they have a heat lamp and are kept safe from outside birds. There are 3 in there at the moment, all hatched from my own chickens but the eggs were hatched in my incubator. They have been fed on the same brand of chick starter since they hatched. No other chicks have the symptoms. I've tried Googling it but didn't find a consistent response. Any ideas?

Did you ever get a response to this? I have a chicken with similar symptoms :/

The OP's chick sounds as if avian encephalomyelitis could have been a possible problem. AE usually affects chicks under 4 weeks, though, but I would investigate this. There are vitamin or mineral deficiencies also that affect chicks. I would look over the links below and read about symptoms and compare them to each deficiency. Poultry Nutri-Drench and Poultry cell vitamins contain both vitamins and minerals that may help. A note of caution though about Nutri-Drench is that it does not contain riboflavin (vitamin B2) so you may need to add B complex or riboflavin, or foods rich in them.
