Afternoon everyone! I was just wondering what camera system you use in your coops. I hope to sometime soon get cameras hooked up inside and outside the coop. I am hoping for something I could connect to my phone so that if I'm away from home I could check how everything is. If anyone knows anything about a camera system that is decently affordable or have any ideas it will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I use Wyze cameras. I believe they've come out with a wireless version but my coop is wired so I use the plug-in version. I bought 4 cameras for under $100 dollars. I did have to get a better router to get the wifi signal out to the coop. My coop is about 100 feet from the router location in the house.
I can check on the birds whenever I need. When on vacation, I actually logged into the coop cam one night to talk my nephew through getting a broody out of the nest during nightly lock up and head count. You can speak through the cameras too.

In order to connect to your phone you have a couple of choices. Use your home network connection with an IP camera or get a cellular enabled trail camera or one that supports a cellular modem.

I have an amcrest (IP web address) camera in my run. You can see it live from anywhere but you have to login. I can move the camera around with controls.

2 questions. Do u have wifi that will reach coop, and do U have either power at coop or know how to do minor wiring can use 12v.

if yes to both above, bluram. There like 40 bucks for the outdoor version. U get 31 days free.. after that its 50 or 60 for one year of service… which Provides 14 days of storage (24/7 monitoring).

if no wifi, the camera can hold 24 hours on a SD card.
if no 120 power, thats fine too.. just get a 12v battery, spade connect / alligator clamp a 12v female socket to it. Then just plug a normal male 12v with usb outlet.

If u just want pics, get a covert wireless wc30. Sends pic straight To your phone as it happens. I have 4 on my deer lease and live 300 miles from it. Its nice to know if a bear knocks feeder over i can take care of it before opening weekend. They are 120$, service is att or verizon.
Whichever works better in your area. service wise… 30$ for first camera, 15$ for each additional. Gives u 20 thousand pics for 3 months.

I have a Blue Rams camera. I love it! It was cheep on Amazon, 30$. I can talk through it, it has night vision, and alarm, live stream obviously, playback, etc. Honestly it works better than out expensive camera system for our house. Its a single camera, I dont think you can by a pack of them, but it works great!

Darn! Thats a good deal! I want to get 3 more.

Note, I got an indoor Blue Rams, so it was much cheeper than the outdoor ones. I use it in my covered run, but it does have a little shelter of its own.
