Hello everyone! So i noticed that one of my new chickens acting kinda lethargic and is not very sociable as it stands somewhere in the corner and mostly doesnt do anything, at first i thought that it might be just her character and perhaps it is, as she would eat and occasionally went bathing in the dirt etc., you know the typical chicken stuff, but then i noticed that she often closes just one of her eyes and when i came closer to see whats wrong, that eye, when opened looked like with a glass bead on top of the eyeball. It looks like it was pecked by another chicken, but yet it seems like it is some kind of a separate formation on top of the eye. When i checked the other eye it seemed a tiny bit cloudy as well, not sure if camera would have caught that, but she ran away in panic before i was able to take a picture. What do you guys think it could be? I never had encountered any issues with chicken eyes and have no idea how to approach it so would be glad if you gave all the advice that you have. Should i rinse it with saltwater as someone mentioned in another post, to disinfect it, could that be helpful? Also im based in Europe so if you think there are any eyedrops i could buy to help, please mention it as well. Thank you!

It looks like her right eye was injured by pecking, and she is likely blind. To help with any infection, I would flush it with saline or an eye wash twice a day. Then apply an antibiotic ointment or eyedrop. If you can get a picture of her left eye at some point, that would be good to see. Mareks (ocular form) disease can cause a loss of color in the iris, and an irregular pupil, so it would be good to rule that out. It is a shame that someone sold you a blind chicken. Hopefully, she can see well enough with her left eye, to find food and water. She may be picked on or bullied, so I would try to feed her extra.

Sorry for replying so late, had a busy day.. And yes, unfortunately she is blind with that eye.. I did flush it with saline, but couldn't find any antibiotic ointment, where im from medications have very strict regulations and without prescription its kinda impossible to get anything like that, what kind of eye drops could be used? Maybe you know which specific components should it contain to be helpful for a chicken? I checked out what ocular mareks looks like and it doesnt seem to be the case, at least in my opinion, the pupil looks normal and everything is fine besides the thin whitish film, but what bothers me that it doesnt look pecked either... I managed to take a photo, what do you think?
Well, actually its a funny story, i didn't quite buy the hen, one day it just showed up at my neighbors garden and stayed there for a couple of days, we called everyone around and couldn't find from where it ran away, so our neighbor just suggested we keep it as they didnt have chickens themselves and so here we are 😂
