I have a white Brahma who has been very lethargic the past couple of days. It started after she drank water from our gray water drainage area (the dishwasher was running at the time). All of our chickens have drunk this water before with no sign of issue. On Monday evening I let them out to roam for a while before dark she acted fine then it was only after drinking the water that she is acting sick. Our black Brahma was acting sick as we’ll foaming at the mouth foam in the eyes she is now fine but the white Brahma is still very lethargic with her eyes closed she stretches out her neck and opens her mouth to breath and this morning as I was checking on her I noticed that she was very warm in the beak comb area. The temp here is 50 degrees Fahrenheit so not heat related. I am concerned that it is micoplasma but I’m hoping it is just a reaction to the gray water she drunk.
Any help is appreciated.

P. S. I put a warm rag on her eyes and they did open. The warm beak and comb was before the warm rag so that is not the reason.

Is her eye intact? I would use a warm wet washcloth as a compress to dissolve the crusty drainage on the eye. Note if there are bubbles or gunk, or any damage. Apply some Terramycin or Neosporin to the eye twice a day for a week or two. This well could be a sign of MG, or a peck to the eye. I would try to make sure they are eating and drinking well. Both birds could be treated with Tylosin powder in their water if both end up with symptoms. MG can cause lethargic behavior as other illnesses.

Yes both eyes are in tact.

No damage that I noticed. I did use a warm compress.

Could the gray water harm them? They both acted fine before drinking the water it was only after that they started acting sick.

I have no idea, but I would prevent them from being able to drink any in the future. Dishwasher cleaner contains things like detergents and bleach that you don’t want them to drink. Plus shower and bath water would also contain shampoos and other soaps, etc. I don’t know that much about gray water seepage.

Update.
Yesterday she didn’t come out of the hen house on her own I had to get her out. Yesterday evening I used a syringe to give her water and then I had to put her in the hen house on the roost. This morning I went out to get her out of the hen houses when I noticed she was out with the others. I took them a treat and she came running to me. Her eyes are clear and she isn’t “warm” in the beak area. She was eating this morning which she didn’t do yesterday.

@Eggcessive thanks again for all the advice.
