Just got this picture from a friend who hatched some of my birds eggs and just as I was thinking that the eyes looked really pretty, I remembered that Marek’s can cause something that looks like this. The other chicks still have blue/green eyes but nothing like this. I’ve never seen eyes this bright on a chick.

A closer up picture, where we can see the iris and pupil clearly, would be helpful, as well as including pictures of both eyes. The eye does look swollen or inflamed, that large white area in the front doesn't look normal. Could also be infection from an injury or even possibly a respiratory illness.

Young chickens usually have blue eyes and it goes away as they get older, so that's probably it. The color can vary.
That eye looks a bit swollen or something though?
I was able to confirm that the chick’s eyes have basically always been like that so false alarm 😮‍💨
I found an old picture of dad and he had pretty pale eyes too as well as the eye gap that I think you guys mean when you say swelling, but there were also two new chicks introduced the same day as the picture was taken so they may have also been pecked in the eye 😅 the new chicks had assimilated by that night

More recent picture of dad

Dad just has a big space where his second eyelid is. He’s never had any issues

Ah, I do have a hen myself with a bigger space in front of the eye. It can just be a normal thing.

What does the other eye look like? Can you get a more clear picture of the left eye in good light with no reflections?
I unfortunately don’t have the bird myself so I need to ask if I want any specific pictures. I’ll ask but I can’t guarantee anything
