A closer up picture, where we can see the iris and pupil clearly, would be helpful, as well as including pictures of both eyes. The eye does look swollen or inflamed, that large white area in the front doesn't look normal. Could also be infection from an injury or even possibly a respiratory illness.
I was able to confirm that the chick’s eyes have basically always been like that so false alarmYoung chickens usually have blue eyes and it goes away as they get older, so that's probably it. The color can vary.

I found an old picture of dad and he had pretty pale eyes too as well as the eye gap that I think you guys mean when you say swelling, but there were also two new chicks introduced the same day as the picture was taken so they may have also been pecked in the eyethe new chicks had assimilated by that night

Dad just has a big space where his second eyelid is. He’s never had any issues
