Has anyone made a chicken hoop house using remesh (wire reinforcing for concrete) instead of cattle panels? The remesh comes in various weights 6 ga or 10 ga, while the cattle panels are usually 4 or 6 ga. But Cattle panels are a standard 16' long, while the remesh comes in rolls of 150' or 10' sections, AND is 5' wide instead of only 4'. Since several of the suggestions I've seen on this forum say a central support beam is important, AND since the panel or mesh is being covered by another layer of chicken wire or hardware cloth, I wondered if the remesh would work adequately. I think in general the remesh is lower weight & lower cost - but possibly a bit lower strength.
Not being limited in size to the 16' length of a cattle panel seems to me more versatile, especially if one is making smaller chicken tractors.
Thanks,
Janet
