I don't really mind that she's a freeloader, she's beautiful, but when can I expect her to start laying again?

A few factors:

She's a Brahma x Buff Orpington.
We had her at a few months old in Spring.
She laid around 15 eggs and became broody. We let her hatch out chicks late July.
After the 'weaning' period of the chicks, she went into molt.
The chicks are now 15 weeks old and she's fully feathered back out.
Her comb is back to being redder and plump (after her brooding) and still no eggs!

She's been through quite a lot in her first year of life! I'm wondering if because it's now Autumn where I live, will she not lay until next Spring?

This is a pic of her looking over her chicks (when they were a lot smaller) :D

Thanks!

I wouldn't be hoping for eggs until after the solstice. Or even February.

I have one hen (out of 10) still laying, but every day I ask her, "Is this your last egg??" I'm resigned to buying eggs until New Years, probably, at least.

Thanks for the reply! I have 3 hens still laying at the moment so I'm quite pleased they are still going. It's been months and months since my Brahma laid an egg, I'm hoping her first one won't hurt her too much!
