Hello,

We got three ex-battery hens around 5 weeks ago. I’m the last couple of weeks, the initially strongest one has deteriorated. She sticks her neck out and hold her beak open - it looks like she’s trying to make sound but nothing is coming out. She’s become slower and the colour of her hat (not sure on correct term) is fading and becoming floppy. We have treated her with flubovet and massaged her coop incase something was lodged. Grateful to know if anybody recognised these symptoms. Best, Lizzie

It might be heat related. What is the temperature where you live?

Make sure the medication you gave treats gape worm. And if you need to treat a second time. Make sure there is pently of fresh water available and if it's hot fill some short tubs or feed pans with water to stand in if you don't have a short container wetting the ground works too. Otherwise, you've done what I would do so far. Hope she recovers

Do you have a picture of her exhibiting symptoms? If so you might want to post it because it might be helpful
