I noticed today that my 4 year old is missing some of her wing feathers. I’ve seen many molts but I’ve never seen this. I tried to take a picture. Please let me know if this is normal or if she has some type of disease. Also, they are all eating grower feed and I do have oyster shells for them to eat as they wish. Could this be a lack of calcium? My hen has been on grower feed for 6 weeks now.

How old is your hen. Could be the feathers are just getting old. I've fed grower feed long term. It's fine and generally has more protein.

She is 4 years old. She has been opening and closing her mouth to breathe for weeks now too. It’s constant. She eats and drinks well and her comb is bright red. She does not have a runny nose or watery eyes either.
