I have a white crested black polish, 3 months old, beautiful pullet. A week or so ago she lost a lot of feathers, couldn’t stand up well, and kept bobbing her head. She was very light, our first idea was her feathers got in her eyes so she couldn’t see the feeder. We took her to the vet who gave her an IV and tube fed her some vitamins. Over the next few days she recovered somewhat well, beginning to walk around and eat and drink on her own more. However, she still seemed off. She bobs her head up and down sometimes, and just doesn’t seem all there. hoping she can go back to the main coop and acclimate and be able to function well enough. Has anyone had a similar experience? She didn’t have any damage or missing crest feathers to suggest excessive pecking.

I would offer some human vitamin B complex and 400 IU of vitamin E daily, along with a little bit of scrambled egg for selenium. Is she on a balanced chick starter grower feed? If she is having trouble seeing, try trimming some excess fluff of feathers (not too short since they can bleed.) I would try to get her back with others as soon as possible. My polish would get their head feathers pecked out, so get some Bluekote to use if that happens. If used early, and every 2 days, it stopped the pecking.
