Ive heard about chicken tutus. I am debating if I should buy one for my hens. What do you guys think of chickens tutus. Are that safe? Do chickens like them(well at least don’t mind them)? Should I buy one?
Thanks!

I can only speak for myself, since I've never tried to put a chicken in a tutu before. I used to HATE the tutus my mom bought for me as a child. They were scratchy, cumbersome, annoying and getting in the way of doing anything fun. I can only imagine how much a chicken would hate them, since chickens are used to wearing just their feathers.

But as someone who hates tutus....don't torture your chickens with them. ;)

I can't speak from experience but I imagine it's a lot like dog clothes. Some are okay with it while others aren't.

This reminds me of an article I read about a lady who sold chicken tutus (and aprons). She said she started off with aprons but people started asking for "chicken clothes" so she tried making some and found that people in fact would pay for tutus/dresses. She admitted herself that the tutus "serve absolutely no purpose. They're just cute."

So if you just want to try it because you think it's cute, and you have chickens that have been handled enough that might accept it, go ahead. Just make sure you supervise any bird that happens to be wearing one for safety's sake.

I think if one wants to 'dress up' an animal, it's best to get a chihuahua...

...or better yet, one of those concrete geese.

Because, really, it's done to please the humans, not the animals.

i think it depends by your chickens' character..
i know that my chickens even if they are very friendly with me, they really hate any clothe, so i don't force them to wear it. if your chickens don't mind tutu (it means that they don't get nervous or try to put off the tutu)you can use it. but, even in this case, i would use tutus only for the time of taking a picture, and then i would remove,;) cause it's an unnatural thing. ;)
