So I got m flock Saturday and I’ve noticed their vents don’t look too good! My roosters looks chapped and slightly swollen? One of my hens laid an egg yesterday and hers is red, but not bleeding and chapped looking like the roosters just red, and it’s protruding out maybe an egg stuck or something? He rest of them, theirs is red and looks like the vents clogged with poop so have to bathe them, but not sure what to think about the other 2! What do you think and what do I do about it?

Are they drinking enough water? I would clean their vents with warm water and soap and make sure they are able to poop. You could try some preparation h to reduce the swelling. Protruding sounds like a prolapsed vent? I haven't had this happen personally but a friend of mine had something similar happen and she used preparation h for the swelling as well and cleaning their vent

Ok great thanks so much! They’ve been drinking water since I’ve had them but I’ve only had them 2 days. They didn’t have a great, clean home before but now they have access to clean fresh water and food constantly

I would research prolapsed vent and see if that sounds and looks similar to the one with the protruding problem. I would check for mites as well around their vent something is causing this irritation.

Does this look like a perforated vent?
