Chickens are pooping in the feeder.

I put feeders in their coop with food 24x7 but they jump on top of the feeder and poop in it. And when the poop goes in their food they don't eat it anymore. A lot of their food is going to waste and I have to wash their food and water feeders every single day. They only eat some of their food and then poop in it and then don't eat more. How can i stop them pooping in their feeders?

They perch on top of the feeder and poop in it and then they dont eat the food

You could do something as simple as make a cone out of wire or cardboard and tape it on top of the feeder so they can't perch on top. Or attach a rain hat if you don't want to DIY, if there's a rain hat for your model.

Also, hang the feeder at the level of the chickens' backs. You can use a carabiner and a chain to keep moving it up as they grow.

I uhh tried doing the but they just jumped on top the feeder and spilled all the water. The feeder was exactly under their neck and above their chest

That's where the hat comes in.

You lift the feeder so that they can't kick dirt into it, let it swing so that they get dumped if they try to sit on the side, and use the hat to make them slide off the top.

It all works together as a system.
