Does anyone know if you are allowed to have chickens in Delray? If anything, maybe as pets? My family in Michigan has had chickens for years and I hate relying on farmers I know to get eggs! I want my own! Please help! Totally new to this! :)

You can't have chickens in the city limits, but can in the unincorporated parts of delray. That would be west of military , but zoning has changed too in certain areas. I can help you eggs if you need them regularly. I live in Delray too:D

Hi! I know that it has been a couple of years, but did you ever find anything out about unincorporated parts of Palm Beach County? I am currently trying to find out if chickens are allowed in unincorporated Boca Raton. I live way west in Boca.

Hi, I am looking in to buying in unincorporated Boca Raton and am wondering the same question. Can anyone share what they know with me, please? Thanks!

Just look up your address on the county code zoning map. Lots of areas are allowed to have backyard chickens in Palm Beach county. Hope this helps!

Hi! I am in development in PBC and familiar with codes and zoning. I am looking myself. It seems that is allowed in rural and exurban communities like the acreage and Jupiter farms regardless of acreage of the lot. However, I am in unincorporated as well but classified as suburban and it seems the answer is no if someone complains lol. I have 1.5 acres. My neighbor has chickens but if a roaster disrupts neighbors there may be an issue. I will keep digging in municode for more details on suburban which is most of unincorporated. Below is a map of tiers for reference. I will post as I dig more in the suburban tier that applies to most unincorporated. Hope this helps.

Follow up on zoning. See link below. I copy the image of permitted uses. Go to PBC property appraiser’s office put in your address and go to the bottom. It will tell you your zoning code for your home. Look at the image and see if it’s a permitted use. Hope this helps everyone with their zoning questions on unincorporated PBC . 😊
