Classical Music for Baby Chicks?

I think music is a wonderful idea! Many dairy farmers play music in their barns. They've found that it increases milk production. Classical is preferred. However, when they play rock, they end up with milk shakes.

When I was bothered by night time raccoon visitors, I put a radio in the coop.

When you play rock music, the chickens are stressed out and lay more eggs. Classical is only 3 less eggs out of a couple chickens in 2 weeks. I play classical for the chicks and I now rarely ever have to deal with pasty butt.

Turn on the music as soon as you get the chicks and they arent as stressed out!

I play classical, world, and Celtic music for my chickens. Lorenna McKennit is a group favorite. I use to play classical music for all my mares and their foals and even the stallion to keep them all calm. Music is good for both animals and people and have calming effects as well as benefits overall health. My one stallion was big into rock music as well, he would throw his jolly ball around to Queen and AC DC.
