Uhh I cut both feathers is that bad?You want to cut the wing feathers on one wing, and do their primary feathers, so the ones near the end of the wing. If you cut all the feathers on a wing, they cannot insulate themselves like they would need.
Yes, they will grow them back in time. Chickens lose feathers and grow them back.
You’re supposed to only clip one because clipping both can actually help the chickens get further up into the air. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem though, just cut only one next time.Uhh I cut both feathers is that bad?
No I mean I only cut one side but I clipped the full wing in a straight lineYou’re supposed to only clip one because clipping both can actually help the chickens get further up into the air. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem though, just cut only one next time.
Basically I didn't only just do the primary I did bothNo I mean I only cut one side but I clipped the full wing in a straight line
Ohhhh I don’t think it will cause any major problemsNo I mean I only cut one side but I clipped the full wing in a straight line
If it is warm where you are it should not be too much of a problem. If it was cold, it could be bad. The inner feathers are used for insulating their body.Uhh I cut both feathers is that bad?
OP did only cut one wing, but I'm glad to hear you say that as I get so tired of people saying to clip both. That's counterproductive. I have two macaw parrots and learned 20 years ago that if we take them outside it's a good idea to clip a wing. We're talking a $2K bird here, so I researched like 20 parrot forums to find out 19 of them said one wing. You’re supposed to only clip one because clipping both can actually help the chickens get further up into the air.
