cloves for killing parasites?

came across a site that said cloves are "Cloves (anti-parasitic, kills parasite eggs, antimicrobial)"
I think they are talking about clove oil, but I' wondering if sprinkling powdered clove in the coop around the roosting area might help as well?

Ya know I think it would. Rosemary leaves are good too.
