6-7 Week Old Chicks

The last 2 weeks one of my chicks had a respiratory or eye infection going on. I had flushed her eye and given her terramycin for a week and she seems pretty much back to normal, but yesterday I noticed one of my other chicks was acting sluggish/sickly. And I noticed their poop was abnormal, but I couldn't tell if it was shed intestinal lining or blood. I'm pretty sure it's shed intestinal lining but not blood but i got nervous and added corrid to their water yesterday instead of the electrolytes/proviotics i had put in their water the week before for my other chick who was sick.

Aside from them that first one having the eye issue (now clear) and the other one being kinda sluggish everyone else is perfect and they all were still eating and drinking fine and not in that puffy cocci stance.

Well I just got home from work and the one who has been sluggish since yesterday is in full on cocci stance. I've had one die before from cocci, so I'm really trying to be as proactive as humanly possible.

I have been putting 1/2 tsp of corrid in their Qusrt sized water and changing daily (only changed once obviously since i just started, but Im aware you have to change it daily)

Anyway I say all this to say. What else can I do to be as proactive as possible? Also can I give more corrid to the one who is sickly? Any advice welcome. Thank you!

Yes, they actually recommend redosing them. I wasn't sure about your dosage so here's a chart I had. Corid dosage chart.jpg

When all done with giving Corid, be sure to alternate days of vitamin water (we use Poultry Cell) and probiotics (we use Hydro-Hen) for a couple of weeks.

Since there is blood in the feces, I highly recommend giving your birds Endocox aka Toltrazuril. The Corid may not treat the two types of coccidiosis that cause blood in feces.
Here's where you can order the Endocox, follow the instructions on the package. In the meantime, continue with the Corid until you get the Endocox in the mail.

I'm experiencing the coccida for the first time.
I've lost several chicks (14 wks old) so far.
I was advised to give them store bought milk, which I started Sun, and today is Tues.
I have 1 cockerel & 8 pullets left. These are all standing & walking to get the milk (the others that have died wouldn't walk & kept their eyes shut even when I was sticking an eye dropper of milk down its throat every 3 hours.
I've cleaned the dirt run, sprayed food grade peroxide, put down fresh peat moss, about 8-10 cups of DE & 10-50lb bags of sand in the 16x20 run & have raked the sand floor in their coop. (Run & coop are newly built, as we're not even done with placing nest boxes etc...)
Someone advised me to spray all coop surfaces with bleach water (it has a wooden floor & still has some sand).
->Your thought?
I also sprinkled a bit of DE on any poop I see to keep the flies away. I'm careful not to puff it around.
Even though the remaining chicks seem they're on the mend, should I give them the corid or the medication you suggested in the previous post? (Chicks had blood in their feces). Or are they out of the woods since they're up & walking? (Still not super energetic but not keeping their eyes closed anymore).
->Your thoughts?
The entire flock is New Hampshires, they may start laying at 16 wks (2 wks away), so they've been on Layer pellets for a month.
Should I put them back on Medicated Crumbles?
-> Your thoughts?
I was also advised to follow the milk with a tea mixture with golden seal, cayenne pepper, oregano, garlic, thyme & ginger. Plus a Vitamin B
->Your thoughts?
I appreciate any advise!!
Thank you!

Corid treated water should be the only thing the chicks are drinking. I'd skip the milk. If some aren't drinking, you've got to drop it in their beak.
Corid (and I imagine the endocox) is a vitamin b blocker - so you should not be giving any vitamins especially vitamin b right now. Once the chicks are well and you are no longer following the protocol, you can treat how you want with vitamins and herbs. But, they will need some probiotics to get back on track. I'm not sure where you're getting the info, but I'm pretty sure it's not from byc. There are plenty of knowledgeable people here that can help with correct info.
In my opinion since you are seeing improvement with Corid, I'd continue dosing as per the chart that Debbie posted above. If they continue to spiral or the coccidiosis returns, maybe give the endocox a try.

You can sanitize to keep up with things. I also clean out droppings from bedding and pick up from the run about 3 times per day when there is an issue. I would use vinegar in the coop due to their respiratory system being so fragile.

I got the advise from a group called Make Chickens Great Again off Telegram.
I won't make that mistake twice.
Corid will be delivered tmrrw morning. And that's the first thing on my to-do list.
Thank you for your advise!
