Coffee Grounds - We NEED More! Where can we buy some??
We live in Joplin, MO and we were buying it at Atwoods, but they have been out for months! Willing to drive to Springfield even (which is an hour away) Any suggestions... does anyone know who is selling the coffee ground bedding for chickens near here?
Thank YOU!!

The company that makes it (Grounds) has been on and off for the last couple of years. It'll be in stock in VERY few stores (there's only one in my entire state) and for a very short time. Then, it will be gone for many, many months. Their website is useless for information, you can email them, but you may not get a response for months.

What are you using the Grounds bedding for? Coop? Poop Board? There's likely an alternative that you could use that would be more reliably available.

I have sent them a msg a few times, Power By Coffee, but still no reply... I use it in the coop. I will be making a poop board in the new 8x12 coop we are working on... I thought the coffee idea was The Best Ever! It lasted forever and smelled great. I thought that maybe I could dry some grounds myself, but believe it or not, Starbucks doesn't go through enough coffee... They were donating to me, but a small bag of used grounds a day would take me forever to get enough for the floor in the new coop.

Believe me, I LOVE the Grounds (Powered by Coffee) bedding - so much so that I bought 10 bags of it the last time Rural King had it (probably about a year ago) and I've been rationing it like crazy, trying to buy time until this company gets their 💩 together.

BUT, assuming that they aren't getting their 💩 together for whatever reason, I have found alternatives. I use Sani-Care bedding on the floor of my coop now (it is 10x12). It is very finely ground wood (almost sand-like), used for Horse bedding, but it is siftable like the Grounds (it just doesn't smell like coffee) and it lasts FOREVER. Granted, it is a bit pricier than Grounds (if you have to have it shipped, like me), but WELL worth it. It is not dusty at all, it doesnt get smelly, and itbis very easy to maintain. If you have Tack Shops near you, you may be able to find it there. A quick Google search for Sani-Care bedding will give tons of buying options.

On the poop boards, you can use Sweet PDZ, or even the Sani-Care (or mix the PDZ AND Sani-Care together on the poop boards).

Let me know if you want to see what the Sani-Care looks like on the floor and I can post a pic. :)

Yes, please, take a pic with the Sani-Cane if you get a chance. I just bought Hemp bedding... a friend of mine is all about it lol I thought I would try it out in the new Chicken House. (Chicken Hotel really lol) Thank you so much!!

Here's a close up of the Sani-Care (there are coffee grounds mixed in because I happened to have some, so Sani-Care by itself is a lighter color, but you can see how fine it is and there is literally ZERO dust):

And since I use dropping boards, the Sani-Care stays extremely clean. I may not have to change it out completely for years.

Thanks for the pics. Sorry for the late response, I don't get on here often enough!! lol I sure wish my coop floor looked as good as yours :) It is almost time to clean out and be all fresh for Winter... I did get some of that Sweet PDZ - and it seems to work pretty good, clumping up stuff. I'm going to look around for sani-care. I have an 8x12 shed that needs it pretty much covered. How deep do you fill yours?
