In the Brooder
Hi there-
I have an older hen from a rescue. I’m not sure how old she is but I don’t think she’s laid for the past 2-3 years. For the six years I’ve had her, she has regularly sneezed and the back of her comb can sometimes be purple-ish for an hour or so/part of the day. Recently the back part of her comb has been an odd grayish color, and in the past day or so, the tips are dark and look a bit bloody. It’s been super cold for a week, so I thought frostbite; however, the bloodiness looks off, and my other 6 hens have no sign of frostbite, so I’m just not sure. I appreciate your thoughts and what I might do about it!
