Hey all,

I've done a cursory search and haven't found any dimensions or instructions for poultry cones. I have the tin and was wanting to make them...could anyboudy help me out?

Thanks
Todd

Mine are a little different, as they have a flat back for mounting, so there isn't an easy answer to that. You can get good dimensions on regular round cones at the featherman website.

some other cone sizes:
Stromsberg:
Small cone: 7" wide at top, 10" long.
Medium cone: 9" wide at top, 12" long.
Large cone: 10" wide at top, 18" long.

featherman:
med 4 inches bottom x 8 inches top x 16 inches tall
lrg 5 inches bottom x 11 inches top x 23 inches tall

corner stone
broiler 10" x 13"
turkey 12" x 20"

Brower
large turkey 12" x 20 "
turkey 10.75" x 14 "

I assume the first demention it the top opening, These also have one flat side.

The size of commercial cones vary somewhat.

Can I just use a large traffic cone, and slice off the top on an angle? Guess the opening (where the head would hang down through it) would be 4"-5" diameter? Hubby has lots of traffic cones, some REALLY tall. Figured I could nail it to a post, or suspend it between 2x4s.
