Hello! I have been going down a rabbit hole looking into Congo peafowl (Afropavo congensis). These birds seem wonderful, but am sad to see they are on the IUCN Readlist vulnerable species list. I am having trouble finding much information on breed activity reported after 2016 and no information on additional conservation or breeding efforts of this peafowl online. The initial digging I have done is through Google and the IUCN Redlist. Would anyone happen to know if there are any legal breeders or hatching eggs within the US or shipped internationally? Any other information?

There are a few pheasant breeders working on getting some pairs from US zoos. I doubt any of the peafowl community will ever get their hands on them. Pheasant people don't really like peafowl people due to their tendency towards bad breeding practices and mongrelizing birds left and right. There is also the issue of care as congo peafowl make even keeping pure blooded greens look easy as pie.
