cooked rice for ducks

I would think it would be fine but remember cooking food tends to ruin alot of it's nutrients

I found weevils in a bag of white rice so I cooked up a bunch yesterday and today and fed it out to my birds. The ducks and geese ate it and enjoyed it once I mixed in some familiar food, the turkeys and chickens however went NUTS!! They love the stuff.
I wonder how it stacks up to cracked corn nutritionally speaking. I'm sure it sticks to the ribs better.

I assume you would have to cook it in the first place just to get it to take on water. I would never feed it to a bird dry--- I recall a number of years ago people were saying that pigeons were exploding from eating raw rice thrown at weddings because they would eat themselves stuffed, and then their stomachs would explode when the rice absorbed water and swelled.

Now it's probably an urban legend.... but I think I'm still only going to feed my duckies and chickies and turks COOKED rice! :D
