I don't know who needs this, but my husband had an ad pop up for Harbor Freight for extra cheap sunshade tarps.
he looked at me and said "you know, this would work great for the coop..."

They come on all sizes. We bought a 12x20 to shade our run in the hottest part of the day.... double bonus it will block snowdrifts in the winter. Grommets are every 2 feet, and in the 100° weather I was able to stretch it to 20 foot long. The shade dropped the run temp by 10° and still allowed for enough daylight to pass through for them to know to go to bed on time.

We've bought several, not sure if it's exactly those but the principle is the same. We go around our giant aviary with those to block the wind more than sun, as Wisconsin sure has its share of that! But, they work for both purposes!
