Cooling the coop

It's been pretty hot where I live lately. I'm looking for ways to cool off the coop better. They only go in at night unless they go in during the day. But only locked in at night. Anyway. It's pretty warm in the coop during the day. There is lots of ventilation. But it's still warmer then I would like. I can't put a fan, or an ac in. (I can't use a fan unless it's solar powered) am already racking up the power bill having two acs going in the house. Is there any cost friendly ways to cool a coop that anyone uses?

It might be helpful if you added your geographical location to your member icon.

I live in a northern state, but I have seen some chicken coops down south where people put up a shade cloth over the coop to help it stay cooler during the day. It might also help to paint your coop white to reflect off the heat waves. A dark color will absorb the heat waves, which you don't want.

I planned on painting it light blue. As I was taught in school, cool tones help to keep things cool. An I'm in Idaho.
