It's been great so far. Only one problem with a predator getting in but it was my fault. I didn't close the door between the chicken yard and the run and a raccoon got in. One of them didn't make it in before the door closed :(. That brought me down to 7 chickens. This weekend I got motivated and added some fresh sand to the run and the poop boxes, built a grazing panel, planted flowers in the flower boxes and made some little shutters and a flower box for one of the windows. :). My daughter and I built the water system and they really seem to love it. I add ice to it when it's really hot out.

It looks nice. I’m curious why are you using sand? It’s not all that absorbent.

I like the sand because it's easy to scoop up the poop and keep it clean. We don't get a lot of rain but when we do the area where they are is really well protected by trees..so I don't have to worry about pooling. The chickens seem to love playing in it :)
