Coop treatment for lice

My chickens have lice. My coop is a 65 sq ft shed with sand as it’s bedding. Would you all suggest removing all the sand to treat for the lice?

I'd stir in permethrine based powder.

I have sand in all my coops, including most of the nest boxes. If you use Permethrin dust, there's no need to remove the sand because the sand will be dusted. Here's a link for you to read on an easy way to dust the inside of your coop. See post #3:
