Cornish Cross Genetic/Cultural History

What is the history of Cornish Cross? Genetic history? I'd like to know for Poultry Showmanship, and I'd like to know what two breeds Cornish Cross is developed from, or if it's more than two. I also wonder about where they were first bred, and who was responsible. Anyone know?

I did the same thing last year to discover about these chickens. They were crossed with a Plymouth Rock female in a tall, big boned strain and a Cornish Male double breasted strain. They are often called Cornish Rocks which I prefer that name over Cornish Cross because technically you could cross it with any other bird and you won't get the same result.
