Just hatched today chicks, here are two "pharaoh sized" tuxedo chicks next to a Jumbo Golden. I say Pharaoh sized because they aren't the wild color but they mature around the same size as a paraoh so it makes sense to explain them that way, atleast to me it does

Pharaoh and Jumbo really only differ in weight, though Jumbos can lay considerably larger eggs, and have more meat. Jumbos seem to be more docile and more willing to take food from your hands than the Pharaohs can be. Pharaohs can be skiddish. Pharaoh is the wild size, Jumbo is the meat size, just like theres a bantam variety in chickens as well as a standard size

Just thought i'd make a post for people to view when wanting to see the difference in a picture.

Pharaohs are 5-7 oz in weight Jumbos are around 8 ounces to 1 lb in weight.... finding an lber is a challenge though

I have some jumbo coturnix that are 4 weeks old and are already bigger than my adult pharaoh. I also have some one week old coturnix and one week old white bobwhites. They hatched the same day and were pretty much the same size when they hatched. Now at one week old the coturnix are already twice the size of the bobwhites.

Me too me too! LOL I'm excited because I was told by my breeder friend (who i got most of my original stock from) that my birds are HUGE compaired to what her breeders were (her breeders were all sold because they were old) which to me means im going in the right direction without even really trying yet.
