Hello! I have been raising quail for just a couple of months now, and decided to join up so I can get advice/information and discuss all things quail! I live in downtown Denver, Colorado and chose quail for their size, hardiness, quietness, temperament and laying ability. I've been having a ton of fun collecting and eating fresh quail eggs each day. Nice to meet y'all!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My first quail hatched in March! My first time incubating, hatching and raising any kind of poultry.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I've currently got 8 quail in my outdoor pen and a couple of chicks in the brooder.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I've got a variety of colors of coturnix quail--pharaoh, golden manchurian, silver, rosetta and tuxedo.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I've been lurking for a while and have read lots of the articles.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
When I'm not obsessing over my birds, I like hiking, camping, gardening, and starting craft projects I'll probably never finish.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Besides my quail, my other true love is my boston terrier, Bubs.

Welcome to BYC! I just love quail, the babies are so amazingly small! And i like their calm personalities too. Chickens are very entertaining, you might want to try them out as well.
