Hello everyone,
I am not new to raising quails or chickens but have found I enjoy raising coturnix quail mostly. Currently I have 23 quail and they are all coturnix. I have been following this site for sometime and am finally in need of assistance with an issue that one of my newly hatch quail has.

I recently hatched (1 day ago) 17 coturnix quail, all are good except for 1. He hatched with his head twitching from left to right uncontrollably which makes it unable for him to walk correctly or eat/drink on his own. He hatched on his own with no assistance and with the head twitching. I have been hand feeding him his food and water and started him on Selenium and Vitamin E, I will also be starting him on Poultry Nutri-Drench later today. He is not lethargic and is strong, he only has the issues listed. Does anyone know what illness this is or what cases this and is it treatable?

Thank you for any assistance anyone can give me, culling is not an option!

Good luck!
Hello, not wry neck, already checked it out. His neck is not twisted in a manner that causes him to look up constantly nor is it twisted in a fixed position. It moves as if he is shaking his head no, just left to right.

Ok!
Well it does seem to be neurological, keep up the vitamin E and selenium, also post in one of the forums I gave you a link to.
