Could this be gout?

I noticed my jersey giant hen limping and looked at her foot. Her toe is swollen and the nail is almost gone from being covered by the swelling. The same toe on the other foot is starting to look a little swollen too. I’ve seen bumble foot but this doesn’t really look like bumble foot to me. Anyone have any ideas?

Has it been freezing weather there in the last few weeks? It could possibly be signs of frostbite.

No it’s not been freezing for at least a month now. She wants to lay down now when she’s eating.

The first series of pictures is what makes me think of frostbite. Hopefully it is not that. Let us know how she is doing with an update soon.

Here are some better pictures. I’ve also noticed the same toe on the other foot is starting to look the same now. She acts ok with eating and laying she’s just limping. I may try to get her into the vet in the next couple of days.

How old is your hen? Gout usually occurs in older birds.

Looks like bumble toe to me.
The scab is visible where the red arrow points to.

I didn’t realize they could just get bumble toe lol and thank you! I’m going to treat her tomorrow.
