Could this duck be a mallard type-muscovy hybrid? (Photos)

I have attached some photos of my young drake. Hoping anyone with a lot of experience of hybrids between muscovies and mallard derived (ie khaki campbell, etc) ducks could tell me if they can see any signs of muscovy in this duck? He is about 9 weeks old, and large for his age. He also can perch on the side of his plastic container he sleeps in at night…

I have no idea about muscovy hybrids. What a lovely duck you have there -- such a striking black/chocolate color and nicely shaped head!

I'm assuming he has a drake feather as you know he is male.

I bought two that are mallard/appleyard mules drakes, they dont have to look like their mum! And one of them is bigger than the other. Same clutch.

Where did you get him from?

He was/is khaki campbell. Hatched from an egg in a clutch a wild mallard hybrid was sitting on, her mate was a pure wild mallard… pretty sure one of my domestic girls laid an egg in her nest lol
