So I know my girls are 4+ weeks away from laying but I’m so curious what their combs will look like when they’re getting close? I’ve seen other cream legbars that have HUGE floppy combs that almost cover their eyes. (Those ones also have different feather colors than mine too which I think is weird?) I just can’t see these babes having that cause theirs are still so tiny? Or do they all start out this tiny then get massive? (They’re currently 14.5 weeks old.)

Older laying birds will have bigger combs buy its all based on genetics. Good legbars shouldn't have huge combs.
Ok that’s good to know. I’ve seen quite a few like this and it’s worrying me lol. But also, couldn’t imagine my girls that have barely anything still, end up with monster combs like this 😳

Your legbar pullets are still far from being of laying age. Their comb will grow a lot a few weeks before starting to lay, which is nowhere near soon. Their comb will get redder before getting bigger.

Oh yeah I know they won’t lay til 5+ months I was just looking at them last night thinking their combs are nearly non-existent now; how can they get so huge!? lol. My other girls have had little combs up till they lay and then they get a little bigger and bright red.
