Cricket Trap

I have a butt load of crickets in the back yard and the girls love these things. I just dont know how to go about catching them.

Does anyone here know how to catch them and if so can you explain?

Pics would be greatly appreciated if you have some to share.

Why not let the chickens chase them down?

I'm pretty sure they would love doing it. Mine love chasing things around...I think it builds chicken character.

i would except for like the 5 stray cats and my one neighbors pit mix left side and other neighbors 2 bull mastiffs right side. i'd rather look crazy then feed someone else's pet lol

As youngsters catching crickets for bait was the following: one loaf of over baked (unsliced) bread from the bakery, slice in half lengthwise, remove inside, make a one inch hole at each end, tie the halves together with twine. Place out in cricket area of yard overnight. In the morning retrieve the trap, open the end enough to empty crickets into a peanut butter jar and go fishing. Good luck.
