"Critter Out" and other repellants

Sorry, but I need to ask another question...has anyone used this stuff???? I just saw it online; it's supposed to work for a bunch of predators we all know. It just came into my head to try soaking rags in bleach or ammonia tonight as an additional repellant to what we've already done, but not sure...if we pick it up next day and only put ammonia or bleach down at night around the outside walls of the barn, it won't be toxic to the chickens, will it? I went online to research the bleach or ammonia idea and came across ads for this critter out stuff.

I use Critter Ridder in my commercial (CSA) garden. It's the only thing that will keep the bunnies and groundhogs from eating the cabbage, but it works perfectly.

I wouldn't count on any repellent to keep a hungry predator away from such easy prey as chickens, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it in conjunction with a secure coop and run. It's best if potential predators learn that your property is not a nice place to be!

Along with this, simple things like bringing the chicken feeders in at night and not having bird feeders- or emptying the feeders at night and not having cat or dog food outside will go far in not attracting predators.

We have been going out every night a few times; barricading the barn, and then spraying rags with ammonia or bleach, and laying them on boards or bricks around the base of the barn on the outside. Turn the radio to a talk radio station and move the radio to a different location every few days; and leave a light on. Since we've been doing this, we have not noticed any skunks, coons, or minks, (knock on wood); last thing at night, we take the dogs into the barn on leashes and they make a nose inspection of the entire barn; we can tell, of course, if the dogs think there's any predators in there. We hope all this is helping...am afraid to say; don't want to jinx anything! Sorry to say none of this bothers the rats in the least....
